Aztec Corporation has been actively developing electronic publications for many years. We specialize in technical, professional, and scientific documents. Our solutions are based on platform independent standards using "off the shelf" components. We then extend these components to handle complex and extensive content such as complete books or journals containing complex mathematics and deliver them via the Internet or CD-ROM.
Below are some of our more exciting projects. All are impressive examples of the potential of electronic publishing. (Note that the last project is in a state of development -- it is seeking funding from bodies such as the World Health Organization).
Handbook of Differential Equations
This commercial product is a complete electronic version of Handbook of Differential Equations (Academic Press, 1998). The more than 5,000 mathematical expressions are available in both static (using gif files) and dynamically rendered versions (using Java). The text is searchable with wild cards and also allows easy location of differential equation methods that meet a functional description.
Handbook of Analysis and its Foundations
This commercial product is a complete electronic version of Handbook of Analysis and its Foundations (Academic Press, 1996). More than 20,000 mathematical expressions are contained in this book (in gif format). The text is searchable with wild cards and also allows easy location of key concepts.
Calculus: The language of change
A CD that accompanies a print book. It contains textual material that was relegated to the CD and all the Mathematica notebooks and Maple worksheets described in the text. It also contains a mathematical background to the text (in both postscript and pdf formats).
Scientific Projects
This electronic product, distributed via the web, contains scientific projects for use with the book Calculus: The Language of Change.
Hypermedia Design or
here
This is a book delivered completely on the Web. It makes extensive use of frames and javascript to implement a rich and easily navigatable interactive experience. Several of the author's navigational concepts as described in the book are implemented via javascript.
The Internet and the New Biology
An electronic appendix for a print book.
TGM - Online
A preview of two chapters is ready for searching and browsing (chapters 30 and 54). This project represents the essence of an online reference guide and handbook.
To best view these works, you will need Netscape Navigator 3.0 (or later) and a screen resolution of at least 800x600. Make sure that Javascript is enabled.
